These activities are related to the knowledge required by Coxswains when handling commercial vessels. Vessel Skippers and Masters, both recreational and commercial, should have a very good understanding of the effects that different hull, rudder and propeller configurations can have on the manoeuvring characteristics of a vessel.
This section also includes towing situations and coastal bar crossing limitations for Class 1 and 2 commercial vessels.
This knowledge will need to be demonstrated during knowledge and practical assessments.
